We are happy to announce that the International Workshop entitled, "Towards the Comparative Study of Kitabs in Southeast Asia" will be held on Sunday, November 8, 2009, at Sophia University in Tokyo. The workshop will deal with the progress of catalog-making of Southeast Asian kitabs collected by Sophia University, the significance of the collection and the catalog, the findings on the kitabs in the collection, and the publication of kitabs in Southeast Asia. Problems and prospects of catalog-making and potentials of studies utilizing the collection, will also be discussed. Researchers, scholars, librarians, and graduate students who are interested, are welcome to attend the workshop.
